GH Wellness offers one-on-one hypnosis sessions over Zoom where the client can be relaxed in their own home. Time slots are flexible although most clients prefer evening slots when they are naturally more relaxed. These sessions are extremely interactive, ensuring that the session is focused on client’s needs and evolves through client responses.
Local, small group sessions are also available for spas or clinics where participants would like to be guided through a mini-session focused on relaxation or healthy behaviors. These sessions are not as in-depth as one-on-one sessions.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of consciousness characterized by heightened suggestibility and a deep state of relaxation. Hypnosis occurs in the Theta Brain Wave state. Hypnosis is a safe and natural state people enter into regularly, such as when they are daydreaming or deeply engrossed in a book or movie. In this state, individuals are more receptive to suggestions and are able to access their subconscious mind more easily. Think of it as a deep mediation but with a goal. I guide a person into a trance-like state through a series of instructions and suggestions. Hypnosis is NOT mind control. A person can not be made to do anything under hypnosis that goes against their core beliefs or values. The client is always in control and will remember their sessions and will not do anything they do not want to do.
To utilize hypnosis for behavior change the client must desire to change. Generally, a good rule of thumb is to be motivated to change at a level 8 or above on a 1-10 scale. You can’t successfully engage with hypnosis because someone else wants you to change. Other requirements are a quiet, uninterrupted, comfortable space for your session and a commitment to reinforce your session with a short self-hypnosis script daily.

The conscious mind controls your day-to-day linear thinking and problem-solving.
The subconscious mind controls emotions, habits, past memories, and automatic bodily functions such as breathing. Your subconscious mind focuses heavily on keeping you safe and it also has a bias for what is familiar. This is why willpower is generally not enough for long-term behavior change. Your conscious and subconscious mind need to be in alignment! Alignment is key to achieving your goals. We can utilize hypnosis to get alignment by asking your conscious mind to “take a break” while we talk directly to your subconscious mind.

What To Expect During A Session
First sessions are 1.5 to 1.75 hours as we discuss your issues and desired outcomes, I teach self-hypnosis and then we do a deeper session. Ongoing sessions are 1 hour.
You may experience an altered sense of time, tingling in your limbs or limbs may feel heavy.
You will still be aware of your surroundings and be in control of your mind and actions. You will experience a deep sense of relaxation. Some people may get emotional. In a hypnotic state, some people will see pictures, some people will get sensations — the experience varies by person. All people are capable of experiencing a hypnotic state and there is no “right” way to do it.
Why GH Wellness?
I founded GH Wellness after a long and fulfilling career in corporate America. In my semi retirement, I wanted to run a small company where I could work one on one with people who desire meaningful change.
I do all my sessions myself and limit sessions to no more than 10 per week. This allows me the opportunity to fully invest myself in my clients. As part of my “giveback” mindset I offer limited free session to caregivers and veterans. I feel these are underserved, vulnerable populations.
All my sessions are 100% confidential and I do NOT record my sessions. I keep handwritten notes in secure folders by first name, last initial, date only. Nothing is kept on computer except for zoom meeting schedule, waiver and your intake form.
To work with me, I ask you make a commitment to yourself. I offer sessions in 3 session bundles to allow time and depth for growth and change.
